Anniversary Publications
In recognition of the Society’s 50th Anniversary, we are attaching three special compilations of articles that cover a vast array of history about the Society, the toxicologists and the science of toxicology. By no means do these vignettes cover the entire history of the Society of Toxicology or science of toxicology, but they will give everyone a flavor of the rich history that makes up this dynamic and ever changing scientific discipline.
Society of Toxicology: The First Fifty Years
This compilation is comprised of stories that have been written by the Society’s Past Presidents and leaders. The book is but a slice of the history of toxicology. If you would like to order a hard copy of this publication, please contact SOT Headquarters.
Building for the Future: Toxicology Training Centers
This publication was written by a group of dedicated educators who have devoted their careers to training future toxicologists. The collection does not cover all of the toxicology centers around the world, but is representative of the vast array of programs that are available to undergraduate and graduate students everywhere.
Historical Perspectives
This on-line publication brings to light a vast array of perspectives about the science of toxicology and people who have dedicated their careers to it. These stories cover everything from risk assessment, genotoxic and epigenetic carcinogens and microsomal enzyme induction to toxicologic pathology, to the National Library of Medicine and its toxicology and environmental health program.
