RASS Awards
RASS gives out several awards during the RASS reception at the SOT Annual Meeting every year.

Risk Assessment SS Best Overall Abstract Award |
| Award Description
|
Eligibility: All SOT abstracts.
Any abstract submitted to SOT for the Annual Meeting which indicates a risk assessment focus or impact is eligible for this Best Abstract Award. To ensure consideration, please include risk assessment as a key word and after acceptance of the abstract by the SOT program committee send a copy of the abstract to the contact below.
Winner Receives: Achievement Plaque to the lead author.

Risk Assessment SS Best Published Paper Advancing the Science of Risk Assessment Award |
| Award Description
|
Eligibility: Any paper published in a peer-reviewed journal between January 2011 and December 2011.
Papers should illustrate techniques or approaches that are likely to significantly advance the science of Risk Assessment. To assure consideration, nominated papers can be sent to the contact below. Only RASS Members are eligible to nominate papers. Nominations should include a complete citation, a brief statement of justification, and should be sent no later than January 21, 2012.
Winner Receives: Achievement Plaque to each author. The Sapphire Group, Inc. will further recognize the outstanding paper by awarding a check in the amount of $250 to the first author.

Risk Assessment SS Best Published Paper Demonstrating an Application of Risk Assessment Award |
| Award Description
|
Eligibility: Any paper published in a peer-reviewed journal between January 2011 and December 2011.
Papers should demonstrate an outstanding application of advanced approaches to Risk Assessment. To assure consideration, nominated papers can be sent to the contact below. Only RASS members are eligible to nominate papers. Nominations should include a complete citation, a brief statement of justification, and should be sent no later than January 21, 2012.
Winner Receives: Achievement Plaque to each author. The Sapphire Group, Inc. will further recognize the outstanding paper by awarding a check in the amount of $250 to the first author.

| Award Description

Eligibility: Graduate students who are SOT members.
A copy of the abstract submitted to SOT, a brief synopsis of the paper (3–5 pages, including tables and figures), and a letter of support from their major advisors should be sent to the contact below.
Winner Receives: Achievement plaques to the graduate student and their advisor and $500 check to the graduate student.

Risk Assessment SS Robert J. Rubin Student Travel Award |
| Award Description
|
The Mechanisms and Risk Assessment Specialty Sections Robert J. Rubin Student Travel Award provides travel awards to one or more graduate students to participate in the Annual Meeting of the SOT. Recipients of the Rubin Award will be selected by a Committee jointly appointed by the leadership of the Mechanisms Specialty Section and the Risk Assessment Specialty Section.
The Award Recipient(s) will be selected based on the scientific quality of the abstract of a presentation that applies mechanistic toxicology to risk assessment and that has been accepted for presentation at an Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicology. The abstract and presentation should be based on the student's research. Applications for the Award will be accepted for presentations to be given up to one year after the Award Recipient receives their doctoral degree.
