The
Regulatory and Safety Evaluation Specialty Section (RSESS) is a
popular and highly active section with between 325 and 350 members.
The section has been very successful in recruiting participation
from highly visible scientists to debate opposing viewpoints on
Emerging Issues in Toxicology as part of the RSESS business meeting
at the SOT Annual Meetings. Our goals to provide surveillance of
developing regulatory initiatives and on new toxicological procedures
are focused on keeping our members informed and up to date on these
important areas. RSESS goals are summed up in our mission statement.
The
Mission
The mission
of the Regulatory and Safety Evaluation Specialty Section of the
SOT is to promote the development of sound governmental policies
and regulations based on contemporary scientific knowledge arising
from the disciplines encompassed by toxicology. RSESS provides a
forum for the interaction of SOT members to discuss the impact of
regulations, guidelines and guidances on the practice of toxicology
and the safety evaluation of food additives, neutraceuticals, therapeutic
drug products and environmental, industrial and household chemicals
and other products of concern.
