NIH Seeks Your Input on Shorter Applications
NIH recently released an NIH Guide Notice seeking your input on the
concept of reducing the current 25 page limit for the Research Plan
section of the research project grant (R01) application. Many reviewers
and applicants have suggested that our peer review could be improved by
a shorter application. The NIH Peer Review Advisory Committee and the
NIH Institute and Center Directors Leadership Forum have responded by
encouraging all stakeholders to consider the possibilities. For more
