History of SOT
The Society of Toxicology was founded in 1961 as a not-for-profit scientific
society. The historical accounting of the Society, Society
of Toxicology 1961–1997, is now available on-line. The Historical
account from 1961–1986 was compiled by the past SOT Historian, Dr.
Harry W. Hayes and available both in print and on-line. Dr. Robert Scala,
the past SOT Historian, has compiled the historical content from 1986
to 1997, which is available on-line. The history from 1998 to the present
will be added to the site as it becomes available.
