Why be a Student
Member of SOT?
There
are many reasons for a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow to
become a student member of the Society of Toxicology.
- As
a member you would have access to the new SOT On-Line Career
Resource and Development Services, which may prove to be very
helpful in locating a job once you graduate.
- Members
can apply for Student Awards and Fellowships.
- As
a member you would receive five issues of SOT's newsletter, Communiqué.
The news letter will keep you up to date on the latest legislative
and regulatory issues and events of interest to you as a scientist.
- Members
are allowed to become members of a specialty section. Specialty
Sections offer you an opportunity to meet others working in
your topic area. They also usually have their own awards
for students to win some money and prizes.
- Members
can get involved by joining committees such as the Student
Advisory Committee.
- Membership
also shows that you are involved in your science and would improve
your resumé.
