Cheryl Lyn Walker

Experience: Dr. Walker is the Ruth and Walter Sterling Professor Carcinogenesis, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a Member of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Toxicology UT Austin and a Visiting Member, Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology, Texas A&M University. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor, College of Pharmacy, University of Texas-Austin and was previously a Staff Fellow at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (1984-1988) and a Scientist at the CIIT Centers for Health Research (1988-1992).

Experience: Dr. Holsapple is the Executive Director of International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) and Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI).  Prior to becoming the Executive Director, he was a Research Scientist and Technical Leader, Toxicology, Environmental Research and Consulting Laboratories at Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan.  From 1994 to 2002, he was on the faculty at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond where he advised eight Ph.D. and M.S. candidates.

Pfizer Global Research and Development

Experience: Dr. Cook is a Senior Director of Investigative Toxicology at Pfizer Inc. Before coming to Pfizer in 1998, he was Senior Research Toxicologist at DuPont-Haskell Laboratory for two years and before that, served as Postdoctoral Fellow, CIIT. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physiology in 1979 from the University of California, Davis and his Master’s degree in Toxicology from North Carolina State University in 1982. In 1985, Dr. Cook received his Ph.D. in Toxicology from North Carolina State University.

Experience: Dr. Curtis is the Associate Dean at the college of Agricultural Sciences and former Head of the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology at Oregon State University.  He is the mentor for 18 M.S. students, 11 Ph.D. students and 3 postdoctorals in toxicology.

Experience: Dr. Philbert is a Professor Toxicology and Senior Associate Dean for Research at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.  He has broad experience working with Federal agencies, industry and academia in research and education in toxicology.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration

Experience: Dr. Goering is active in research in biomarkers of cell injury in kidney and liver, toxicity of metals, animal models of compromised health and the toxicology of nanomaterials. He consults with Food and Drug Administration staff on toxicology issues, and health-based risk assessments related to medical products. He lectures and collaborates with faculty and graduate students as Adjunct Professor, Toxicology Program, University of Maryland and the Department of Biological Sciences, The George Washington University.

University of Louisville Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Center for Genetics and Molecular Medicine

Experience: Dr. Ramos is Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Director of the Center for Genetics and Molecular Medicine and the Center for Environmental Genomics and Integrative Biology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed undergraduate training in pharmacy at the University of Puerto Rico and doctoral work in biochemical pharmacology at the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. His research focuses on molecular regulation of retroelements, epigenetics and environmental disease.

Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Experience: Dr. Bogdanffy is currently Director, Regulatory Toxicology at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this position he was Research Manager and Director of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology at DuPont. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology, a Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology from Springfield College, received his Ph.D. in Toxicology from Northeastern University in 1984 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the CIIT until 1986.

Integrated Laboratory Systems, Inc.

Experience: Dr. Borghoff is currently the Director of Investigative Toxicology at Integrated Laboratory Systems, Inc., a contract research and testing service organization in North Carolina. Prior to this position, she was a Senior Scientist at CIIT Centers for Health Research for 17 years where she studied the mode of actions by which environmental agents caused toxicity/cancer. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania in 1980, and a MSPH and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983 and 1987, respectively. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow from 1987–1989 at the CIIT Centers for Health Research.

Experience: Dr. Ganey is a Professor Pharmacology and Toxicology at Michigan State University.  She is active in training graduate students and in research.  Her research focuses on understanding mechanisms by which inflammation modulates sensitivity of the liver to toxic agents.

Experience: Deputy Director and Executive Director of SOT since 1991. President, Association Innovation and Management (AIM), an association management company providing administrative services to the toxicology community, including the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX), Teratology Society (TERA), Academy of Toxicological Sciences (ATS), Safety Pharmacology Society (SPS), Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP), Environmental Mutagen Society (EMS) and the International Association of Environmental Mutagen Societies (IAEMS). She received her BIS in Business Communications, George Mason University, 1989.
