Postdoctoral position at UNC Chapel Hill

A 2-year postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Miroslav Styblo's lab at UNC Chapel Hill to work on a newly funded NIH/ARRA project that will examine kinetics of arsenic methylation by human AS3MT variants and will characterize mechanisms regulating arsenic metabolism by human cells, including primary hepatocytes. Potential candidates should have a strong background in protein biochemistry and cell biology and hands on experience with production of recombinant proteins in E. coli, transient or stable gene expression in mammalian cells, targeted mutagenesis, and enzymatic analysis. Knowledge of cellular redox and transport systems will be a plus.
