Annual Meetings of the PANWAT Regional Chapter The Art and Science of Research Translation in Toxicology October 6–8, 2011 Given the importance of toxicological research in society, it is critical that scientists translate research findings to diverse audiences. Successful translation of basic research can result in informed public health actions and science-based policies. Examples of translation include communicating with broad audiences, using new information or approaches to assess and manage risk, transferring tools and technology to stakeholders and assisting officials, communities and individual to make informed decisions based on new findings. An emphasis on regional approaches to translating toxicological research will be given at the 2011 PANWAT meeting.
