Types of Membership
The Society of Toxicology offers four principal types of membership,
with benefits specific for each category. Associate Membership is not a prerequisite
for Full Membership in the Society.
Emeritus Membership
A Full or Associate member of the Society who has maintained membership continuously for 40 years will become and Emeritus member unless he or she declines. Emeritus members shall retain their privileges of membership, will not pay dues, and will receive the journal electronically.
Retired Status
A member desiring this status needs to submit a letter of request to
Council stating that he/she
earns less than 50% of total income from toxicology-related work.
Other Special Relationships
- Undergraduate students with an interest in toxicology can register
to become Undergraduate Student
Affiliates.
- Corporations and institutions may become SOT
Affiliates.
- Non-Members with outstanding and sustained achievement in the field of toxicology may be recognized as Honorary
Members. Nominations can be submitted by two Voting or Associate members, who may be Council members. Nominations must be accompanied
by a seconding letter and information regarding career achievements in toxicology.
