Merit Award

Description

The Merit Award is presented to a member of the Society of Toxicology in recognition of distinguished contributions to toxicology throughout an entire career in areas such as research, teaching, regulatory activities, consulting and service to the Society.

The award consists of a plaque that is presented at the SOT Annual Meeting Awards Ceremony, a cash stipend, and an invitation to deliver the Merit Award Lecture at the Annual Meeting at which the award is given.

Criteria for award:

  • Distinguished contributions to toxicology

Items needed in the application:

  1. Letter of nomination from Full member of the Society
  2. Curriculum vitae of nominee
  3. Seconding letter from Full member of the Society
  4. Both letters should provide documentation and description of career highlights for the nominee and his or her significant contributions to toxicology; CV listing is not sufficient without analysis and discussion of the important contributions.
