To be eligible, the paper must have been published or in press in a peer-reviewed journal during the period of December 1, 2021 through November 30, 2022 and first-authored by the award applicant. The award consists of a certificate and a monetary honorarium of $1,000. The recipient will be announced at the NESOT reception at the SOT annual meeting and will be asked to give a 5-10 minute presentation on their work.

Applications will be judged on their logic and flow, hypothesis, approach, experimental methods or model, results, discussion, and overall manuscript quality.
