Inhalation and Respiratory SS Mary Amdur Student Award

An engraved plaque and cash stipend ($500) will be awarded to the student whose abstract best addresses the environmental health issues that were the focus of Dr. Amdur’s career. Mary was a pioneer in air pollution toxicology, who overcame gender, political, and scientific barriers to proclaim th potential for interactions between specific air pollutants.

The nomination should include one composite .pdf document that contains: 1) a copy of the abstract submitted to the Program Committee, 2) a letter of nomination from the student's sponsor, and 3) a short synopsis submitted by the student. The synopsis should include the rationale for the study, the significance of the results, the relationship between the student’s work and Dr. Amdur’s career, and the student's role in the work. Nominees must be members of the Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section.

Students can only apply to either the Mary Amdur Award or the Student Award, but not both.
