Welcome to the Lake Ontario Regional Chapter of the Society of Toxicology!

President’s Message

Dear Lake Ontario Regional Chapter (LORC) Members,

I’d like to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support and extend a warm welcome to our new members.

Founded in 1997, the Lake Ontario Regional Chapter (LORC) began with a vision to bringing together scientists from all specialties of toxicology in the geographical region of Southern Ontario and western New York. LORC’s mission is to provide a forum for the interaction and professional networking of toxicologists.

Objectives

  • To promote recruitment to the LORC by raising awareness of our regional chapter among new and established toxicologists in our region
  • To promote connection to the broader community of toxicologists through community outreach to undergraduate and graduate students studying in the field of toxicology at universities in our region
  • To promote continuing education through the presentation of symposia and other educational activities that advance the scientific of toxicology

Goals

  • Mentoring: Serve as role models for new and established toxicologists in our region
  • Leadership: Offer leadership opportunities within the RC for members at all stages of their training and careers
  • Education: Offer programs and educational activities that emphasize the latest developments in toxicology of interest to our membership
  • Connection: Coordinate opportunities for LORC members to learn and connect digitally through relevant forums and joint receptions with other toxicology societies and regional chapters

As your incoming president, I am very much looking forward to working with the dedicated and passionate executive team of the Chapter and its members to further LORC’s vision and goals.

The LORC is always looking for ways to grow, improve, and reach out to our communities. If you have any ideas for events or outreach or are interested in helping out, please do not hesitate to reach out.
