Award Description

Up to four students (graduate and undergraduate) will be selected to give a 15-minute presentation at the Northeast Regional Chapter Fall Meeting. One student will be selected as the winner for the best oral presentation and win $1,000. Students must be members of NESOT. Last year's winner of the oral award is not eligible to compete for this year's award, but is eligible to compete in the poster competition.
Fill out your abstract submission form by September 30, 2022. Students must be members of NESOT to be eligible for the award.

Fall Meeting Postdoc Poster Award |
Award Description
|
This award will be given to a Postdoc that presents a poster at the Northeast Regional Chapter Fall Meeting. Postdocs must be members of the Northeast Chapter to be eligible for the award of $500.
Fill out your abstract submission form by September 30, 2022.
Abstracts will be distributed to the NESOT judges prior to the NESOT Annual Meeting for review. Posters will be reviewed at the NESOT Annual Meeting. The winner will receive their award at the conclusion of the NESOT Annual Meeting.

Fall Meeting Student Poster Awards |
Award Description
|
Three awards are presented to students members of NESOT who present posters at the Northeast Regional Chapter Fall Meeting. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for the awards. Awards are:
1st place: $750
2nd place: $500
3rd place: $250
One award for $125 will be presented to an undergraduate student who presents a poster at the Northeast Regional Chapter Fall Meeting that is not a member of NESOT but is attending the meeting as an introduction to the chapter and the society.

Paper of the Year Award |
Award Description
|
The Northeast Society of Toxicology is requesting nominations for the NESOT Annual Paper of the Year Award in recognition of an exceptional recent publication in toxicology by a trainee (graduate student or postdoctoral fellow) who is also a NESOT member.
To be eligible, the paper must have been published or in press in a peer-reviewed journal during the period of December 1, 2021 through November 30, 2022 and first-authored by the award applicant. The award consists of a certificate and a monetary honorarium of $1,000. The recipient will be announced at the NESOT reception at the SOT annual meeting and will be asked to give a 5-10 minute presentation on their work.
To apply: Submit a single PDF document that includes a cover page with a one-page narrative describing the impact of the paper in the field of toxicology and the role that the first author played in conducting the research, which should be followed by a PDF version of the paper. The narrative should be formatted in 11-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins and should not include a reference section. Applications will be judged on their logic and flow, hypothesis, approach, experimental methods or model, results, discussion, and overall manuscript quality. Please submit a copy of the publication in electronic form to Saurabh Vispute by December 9, 2022.

Student Travel Award for SOT Annual Meeting |
Award Description

NESOT Students:
The NESOT Student Research Award a Travel Award given to graduate and undergraduate student members in the NESOT Regional Chapter. Registered students from other SOT Regional Chapters or students not currently registered as a NESOT student member are ineligible. A membership application may be submitted with the abstract and letter.
Prize Levels:
1st Place: $1,000 and Certificate
2nd Place: $1,000 and Certificate
3rd Place: $1,000 and Certificate
4th Place: $750 and Certificate
5th Place: $500 and Certificate
Submission Process:
1. Submit applications consisting of your Abstract and letter from the student's research advisor by Friday, December 9, 2022 to:

2. Applications will be distributed to the NESOT awards committee for review and ranking. The scores are tabulated and the top 5 are identified & distributed to NESOT officers/councilors for the final ranking for the awards.
Notification Process:
1. Award winners will be notified in January and awards will be presented to the top 5 applicants at the NESOT reception during the annual meeting. |
