The 2009 NESOT Student Poster Awards recipients were granted $750, $350 and $150 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively.
- First place was awarded to Jeena Santos Ahmed of Brown University for her poster, “ Akt1-Dependent Testicular Gene Expression Profiling Following Lactational Exposure to 6-N-Propylthiouracil (PTU), a Neonatal Goitrogen.”
- Second place was awarded to Benjamin Moyer of Brown University for his poster, “Effects of in utero exposure to Mono-2-ethylhexylphthalate (MEHP) on the adult female.”
- Third place was awarded to Priscilla Encarnacao of the University of Connecticut for her poster, “Elucidating the Constituitive and Inducible Activity of the Human TNIP1 Promoter.”

The 2008 NESOT Student Poster Awards were:
- First place was awarded to Xinyuan Yu of the University of Rhode Island for his poster, “Cadmium-induced proliferation of breast cancer cells is mediated by GPR30.”
- Second place was awarded to Natasha Caitlin of the Salve Regina University for her poster, “Pyrethroid Inhibition of the Mammalian Type Voltage Sensitive Calcium Channel(CaV3.2).”
- Third place was awarded to Gregory Marusov of the University of Connecticut for his poster, “Metallothionein expression affects the functional immune response of murine macrophages.”
NESOT Student Travel Award Winners
Each year NESOT offers a competitive Student Travel Award to registered NESOT student members to assist in defraying the costs associated with attending the Annual SOT Meeting.
