Who We Are
Association of Scientists of Indian Origin, a Special Interest Group within Society of Toxicology (ASIO-SOT) is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization. It acts as a scientific and educational society and establishes open channels of communication among all the Indian origin toxicologists. ASIO-SOT is a “home away from home” in the USA for all the toxicologists of Indian origin around the world. It honors and recognizes senior scientists who have made an impact in toxicological sciences as well as provides awards to outstanding postdoctoral fellows and graduate students for their research. The members meet every year at the SOT meeting and/or otherwise keep in contact with each other through networking in order to facilitate and augment professional development, individually and collectively.

Mission Statement
To provide a support network, foster collaborations and professional development opportunities for the toxicologists of Indian origin living around the world.

Key Goals of ASIO
Network and Support: To provide a platform to the members to network with fellow toxicologists of Indian origin and form a strong support group for their professional development.
Mentoring: To provide a platform for facilitating mentoring for students, postdocs and junior toxicologists, and serve as a resource for career development for toxicologists of Indian origin.
Leadership: To provide leadership opportunities to all the members for developing their leadership skills.
Recognize: To recognize the members for their hard work and scientific contribution by awarding the deserving candidates. ASIO will promote and help members to apply for SOT awards and receive due recognition for their work.
