Dr. Oliveira is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), in the Department of Clinical, Toxicological, and Bromatological Analyses at the Ribeirão Preto School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her research focuses on environmental toxicology, particularly the genotoxicity of contaminants and the development of alternative methods to animal testing, such as zebrafish and 3D skin models. She received her PhD in Toxicology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil in 2005. Dr. Oliveira has authored over 90 peer-reviewed articles and 17 book chapters, and co-edited a comprehensive volume on toxicity assessment methods published by Springer. She has been a full member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) since 2008. Dr. Oliveira has served as President of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology (2016–2017) and has been a member of the Nominating Committee of the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX) from 2016 to 2019. She has also contributed significantly to organizing several major events in toxicology, including multiple Congresses of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology and the IUTOX Congress of Toxicology in Developing Countries held in Brazil in 2015. In her academic career, she has supervised 13 Master’s dissertations, 16 PhD theses, and 5 postdoctoral researchers, and is currently advising 1 Master’s student and 4 PhD candidates. Her leadership roles at USP include serving as the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Toxicology from 2016 to 2020. Dr. Oliveira is committed to fostering diversity in toxicological research and promoting the development of the next generation of scientists, aligning with the mission of advancing toxicology and supporting its members.
