Dr. Ruiz is a Toxicologist at Computational Toxicology and Methods Development Lab (CompTox Lab) at Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR)/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her responsibilities and assignments included keeping abreast of the state-of-the-art computational toxicology and innovative methods to support the Agency's efforts on site-specific public health assessments, emergency response, epidemiological investigations, toxicological profiles, and applied research. She received her doctorate from Georgia State University in 2002 and was a postdoctoral fellow at ATSDR from 2004-2005. Dr. Ruiz has served on several workgroups at the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM) and collaborates with national and international research and academic groups. She is author of 30+ publications including peer-reviewed articles and/or book chapters, etc. She has been a member of the SOT since 2001 and has served the SOT in the Biological Modeling Specialty Section as Endowment Fund Steward.
