Welcome to the Central States Chapter of the Society of Toxicology (CSSOT). The chapter is a regional member of the Society of Toxicology and serves academic, government, and industrial toxicologists throughout the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The purpose of this chapter is to serve as a focal point to promote communication and provide opportunities for toxicologists in the region to meet, present research, and discuss topics in the field and foster collaborations. The chapter also serves as a resource for amateurs, students, and professionals interested in the field and the subject. Additionally, CSSOT supports toxicology education at all levels from K–12 to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and recognizes and provides awards for research at the graduate and postdoctoral level.
CSSOT and its bylaws were officially approved by the council of the Society of Toxicology at the 1986 Annual Meeting. The chapter is governed by an elected Committee consisting of five officers, one postdoctoral representative and one graduate student representative.
