Student Awards

President Herb Lowndes presented the student awards for work presented at the current meeting of SOT. The first prize recipient was Mary Beth Center from Duke University for her paper entitled “Evidence that pyrrole formation is a pathogenetic step in gamma-diketone neuropathy.” The second place winner was P. Levesque for the paper entitled “Interactions of mitochondrial inhibitions and methylmercury (MeHg) on spontaneous release of acetylcholine (ACh).” The third place winner was Kevin Crofton from the University of North Carolina (and Environmental Protection Agency) for his paper entitled “Pyrethroid insecticides and radioligand displacement from the GABA receptor chloride ionophore complex.”
