As you know, the SOT leadership has been closely monitoring the situation related to the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past several weeks with the health and safety of our members and their students, attendees, staff, partners, volunteers, and communities as the priority. As previously communicated, we have been taking our guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as public health officials from the state of California, Orange and Los Angeles Counties, and the city of Anaheim. While these authorities continue to maintain that the risk of exposure to COVID-19 in these communities is low, after lengthy and thoughtful deliberations, SOT leadership has made the decision to cancel the SOT 59th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo scheduled to take place March 15–19, 2020, in Anaheim, California.

For housing reservations made through Connections Housing, your reservation has been cancelled. For those who booked travel through the SOT travel provider, ATC Travel Management, SOT staff will manage the cancellation of your travel and housing arrangements. For all others, you will need to adjust your housing and travel arrangements personally.

Why Make Your Hotel Reservation with SOT and Connections Housing?

Connections Housing is the Society’s partner in helping you identify the hotel that best meets your needs during the SOT Annual Meeting. Reserving a room at a discounted rate in the SOT-contracted room block is an important way to support SOT and keep overall meeting costs as low as possible. Your patronage of these official meeting hotels makes it possible for SOT to secure the meeting space necessary for this annual event at a greatly reduced cost, which helps reduce registration costs.

Connections Housing is the only endorsed group to provide assistance with making reservations for your stay in Anaheim. Connections Housing does not solicit reservations or credit card information by phone or email.

If you are contacted by anyone other than Connections Housing, please get as much information as you can (name of company, person calling, telephone number) and notify the SOT Director of Meetings and Events, Heidi Prange.

Room-Share Program

SOT maintains a list of meeting registrants who have signified an interest in sharing a room. This list is available to each meeting registrant who voluntarily enrolls in the program and accepts the terms of the legal disclaimer, but you must be registered for the 2020 Annual Meeting and ToxExpo to gain access.

Access Room-Share List

It is the responsibility of each participant in the program to communicate and work out an agreement with a potential room sharer. SOT does not (a) screen participants, (b) make any determination as to the appropriateness of any resulting room share, or (c) represent that any room share that may follow use of the service will prove satisfactory to the participants.

After room matching, the registrants are required to remove their names from the room-share list.

Housing Desk

Representatives from SOT’s housing partner, Connections Housing, are available to assist attendees with any housing or hotel-related questions or concerns.
