Welcome to the 2021 SOT Annual Meeting Website!
August 4, 2020
Toxicologists, those who work in toxicology, and scientists from related disciplines are invited to attend the 2021 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in Orlando, Florida. Registration and housing are open, and I encourage you to take advantage of the early-bird registration rates and the exclusive hotel fees that SOT has arranged. If you requested a rollover of your 2020 Annual Meeting registration to 2021, SOT staff will be processing your registration—you do not need to take any action.
There is great uncertainty about whether we will be able to hold a large, in-person meeting early next year, but at this point, plan A is to convene in Orlando in March 2021. The Scientific Program and Continuing Education Committees are already hard at work planning the program, and the other work needed to put together an in-person program is essentially the same as that for a virtual program. Because of the uncertainty, an ad hoc task force is developing alternative scenarios, which will include assessing and learning from what others are doing in replacing their in-person meetings. We will hope for the best but will plan for the worst, and the SOT community will gather in some form in March 2021.
Some of the early information on this website includes a list of the 59 tentatively accepted Scientific Sessions and 14 Continuing Education courses, information on awards associated with the meeting, and tips on securing a visa for those traveling from outside the United States.
I encourage you to bookmark this website and visit it frequently—we will continually provide the most up-to-date information as we prepare for the SOT 60th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo.
