What is Toxicology?

Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemical, physical, or biological agents on people, animals, and the environment.

Toxicologists are scientists trained to investigate, interpret, and communicate the nature of those effects.


Did You Know?

Dr. Ruth Kirchstein had a distinguished career in public service that covered 50 years. One of the most prominent achievements was her work on polio that led to the selection of the Sabin vaccine for public use. She was an adamant advocate for women and minorities. Dr. Kirchstein passed away October 6, 2009.
